20 years of Max Planck Partner Groups in India: Visit of the MPG President on the occasion of the anniversary event in New Delhi on 3 April 2024.

Indian research institute or have already returned. In this way, both the Indian scientists and the Max Planck Institutes can maintain close relations. So far, 85 partner groups have been established in India, 28 of which are active.

As part of a trip to Asia, the President of the Max Planck Society, Prof Patrick Cramer, will be travelling to India to mark the 20th anniversary of the Max Planck Partner Groups. The event will be organised on the premises of the German Embassy. His visit will also take him to research institutions in Delhi (IIT Delhi) and Bangalore (NCBS and IISc).

Delegation of the Bavarian university presidents to the Bavarian Higtech Agenda International

The Bavarian-Indian Centre for Industry and Higher Education (BayIND) is organizing a trip for Bavarian universities. The aim of the delegation trip is to establish cooperation under the Bavarian Hightech Agenda. The Bavarian High-Tech Agenda promotes cutting-edge technologies made in Bavaria with a focus on the following areas Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Technology, Space, Clean Tech.

Innovation & Global Cooperation for Sustainability

12. – 14. March 2024

The conference brought together more than 200 participants from Indian and German higher education institutions. It aimed to initiate dialogues on deepening and strengthening future academic cooperation between the two countries in the context of SDGs. Furthermore, it celebrated the 15 successful years of A New Passage to India (ANPtI), a programme funded by the BMBF and run by the DAAD. Germany and India have successfully intensified their economic and scientific relations. Today Germany is host to more than 43,000 Indian students and more than 450 higher education cooperation partnerships between Indian and German universities have been established.

INCUBATORS CONNECT 2.0: INNOVATION AND INTERNATIONALISATION

25. February - 01. March 2024

Incubators Connect 2.0 is a weeklong programme, in which directors and managers of incubators and select funding agencies from India and Germany will meet to discuss internationalization of incubators. The programme will cover workshops, meetings, institutional visits and networking with policy advisors and key stakeholders, including those from research industry, in the research-based entrepreneurship ecosystem in India.

It aims to identify concrete formats and themes for international cooperation between incubators and for their start-ups.

Humboldt-Kolleg "Global Impact of Pandemic on Healthcare, Economy, and Environment"

15. February – 17. February 2024

Coping with the coronavirus pandemic has kept the world busy for a long time. The effects on healthcare systems and economies are still being felt today. As part of the Humboldt Kolleg "Global Impact of Pandemic on Healthcare, Economy and Environment", Humboldtians as well as junior researchers and scientists from Germany will discuss various strategies for overcoming the crisis and dealing with the aftermath. The role of various stakeholders and international research collaborations in the pursuit of technological progress, sustainable economic growth and social well-being will be highlighted. After all, global problems can only be solved together. In the crisis and in the future.

Logo-Competition „50 Years of Indo-German STC”

02. February 2024

There will be several events this year that will run under a common logo. As a first step, a logo competition has been initiated as a prelude.

The deadline for submissions is 02 February 2024 and the Indo-German Science and Technology is organizing this competition. The winner will be honored at the Foundation Day of the IGSTC in June 2024.
