The focus of the 7th BMBF Forum for Sustainability is on discussing current research initiatives, the cooperation efforts between politics, business and research communities as well as future research priorities. The conference is based on the themes of the new framework programme “Research for Sustainable Development” released in February 2010 by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
In about 20 sessions, more than 300 international participants will discuss projects, ideas and approaches for sustainable development. The objectives are to present best-practice examples, to explore solution-driven opportunities and to advance international networking of the research community. This year’s Forum and its sessions will focus on the following topics:
- International Cooperation
- Climate and Energy
- Sustainable Use of Water and Resources
Like last year, in the opening session of the Forum the "Green Talents Awards" will be awarded to young scientists from around the world. The "Green Talents" will be honoured for their outstanding research contributions to sustainable development.
In addition, the scientific programme and the evening events will offer manifold opportunities for informal exchanges, making contacts, discussing ideas and initiating projects.
