In this round, CAESIE received 70 initial Expressions of Interest of which 53 were approved to apply for a Priming Grant. Of these, 48 applications were received and 36 were finally approved for funding after the peer assessment process.A total of 14 successful grants were from SMEs and 22 from researchers.
With regard to priority areas covered; 55% of the grants were for Healthy Ageing through Enabling Technologies, 83% for Clean Energy projects and 64% for Sustainable Cities projects.
There were a wide range of EU countries participating in this round with 16 primary applications originating from 8 EU countries (Researchers 7; SMEs 9). These countries were Finland, Italy, Germany, Spain the United Kingdom, Lithuania, Slovenia and the Netherlands.
There were 14 EU countries named as partners with Australian primary applicants (Researchers 15; SMEs 5). These countries were Finland, Italy, Germany, Spain the United Kingdom, Lithuania, Slovenia, The Netherlands, Ireland, Romania, Belgium, Sweden, Croatia and France.
CAESE congratulates all successful recipients and wishes them well with the progressions of their projects. The results of these partnerships and collaborations will be reported to CAESIE by the recipients in June 2015 and a summary of the outcomes will be posted on the website.
To date CAESIE has supported a total 62 Priming Grant projects through two calls in 2013 and 2014.
