Falling Walls is a unique international platform for leaders from the worlds of science, business, politics, the arts and society. It was initiated on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall.

Inspired by this world-changing event on 9 November 1989, the question of every Falling Walls gathering is: Which walls will fall next? Falling Walls fosters discussion on research and innovation and promotes the latest scientific findings among a broad audience from all parts of society.

The Falling Walls Foundation, a charity, is generously supported by the German Ministry for Education and Research, the Robert Bosch Stiftung, the Helmholtz Association and numerous other acclaimed academic institutions, foundations, companies, non-governmental organisations and prominent individuals.

Falling Walls Conference: Unique Access to Breakthrough Research!

The Falling Walls Conference is an annual global gathering of forward thinking individuals from 75 countries organized by the Falling Walls Foundation. Each year on 9 November, a selected and diverse audience of 600 international decision makers in politics, business, science, media and culture from more than 75 nations convenes in Berlin to see which walls will fall next in science and society.

The aim of the conference is to:

  • connect science with the innovation industry, politics, media and culture

  • identify trends, opportunities and solutions for global challenges

  • make research understandable to a broad audience

  • inspire people to break down the walls that we face today.
