From the 3rd until the 6th of June, Daisuke Motoki, Managing Director of FIBAA, followed an invitation from Professor Dr. Hasan Ali Biҫak, President of YÖDAK, and visited selected Higher Education Institutions in North Cyprus. Beside the request to get to know the higher education system as well as their quality assurance system, a long-term cooperation regarding enhancements within transparency and comparability of higher education by common development eligible standards and assessment methods is aspired.
"There is a distinct interest in the German accreditation system and the assessment method of FIBAA2", confirms Motoki. In order to get a picture of the higher education system in North Cyprus, Motoki met presidents and rectors of the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), the Cyprus Near East University (NEU), the Uluslararasi Kibris Üniversitesi (CIU) and the University of Mediterranean Karpasia (AKUN). "The personal exchange with the representatives of Higher Education Institutions was very informative and enabled me to get an overview of the North Cypriot higher education system. I have learned a lot about the intern organisation, the study guide and the procedures of quality assurance within research and teaching. The efforts of these institutions to correspond to European and International Standards are remarkable. I was taken with how modern and international the higher education institutions are", expressed Motoki after the visit.
