On December 21st, 2010 Dr. Andreas Kelling, Director of IBR School of Executive Management was handed over the FIBAA premium seal by Dr. Immo Schmidt-Jortzig, Head of Programme Accreditation, and Dr. Heinz-Ulrich Schmidt, Special Representative of FIBAA, and Panel Secretary of the MBA's reviewers team. During the celebration which took place at the FIBAA Head Office at Bonn both FIBAA representatives emphasized the outstanding qualities of the curriculum design to deliver a work related up-to-date business education to its students who profit from broad international background of both, teaching staff and fellow students.
The programme offers management education for young executives and SME-entrepreneurs who either want to enrich their future management career and opportunities or plan to set up their own business by gaining a more profound insight into the various domains of management. The programme has an international, applied research and cross cultural focus and is taught in English. The faculty consists of 10 different nationalities. IBR operates in foreign markets such as Ukraine, Hungary in Europe, Mozambique and Namibia in Africa and in India. The IBR Global MBA is a blend of on-campus and off-campus activities. On-campus activities include residential periods in the countries. Off-campus activities include in-company projects and related business consultations adapted to executives’ needs who wish to combine work and study.
To be awarded the FIBAA-premium seal programmes have to prove higher-than-average performance in the criteria 'aims and strategy', 'admission procedures', 'design of the course', 'resources and services' and 'quality assurance'.
Dr. Andreas Kelling and Gerd Kelling (member of the IBR advisory board) pointed out that “the premium-seal-award means a very desirable recognition of the strong efforts of the IBR-Team to shape this master programme successfully as a truly international management education”. Both agreed that FIBAAs premium-approach “establishes a valuable and distinguishing benchmark to motivate further quality efforts in the higher education area”.
