First DWIH Annual Report released during Strategy Planning Meeting of the German House for Research and Innovation

The German House for Research and Innovation - DWIH New Delhi launched the Annual Report for 2013, its first year of operation, on 17th September 2014 at Neemrana Fort.

Dr Alexander P. Hansen, Chairman of the Board of DWIH New Delhi, proudly unveiled the publication and presented a copy to all consortium members gathered on the occasion. The launch of the Annual Report 2013 coincided with the Strategy Planning Meet 2014 held from 17th to 19th September at Neemrana Fort, with the DWIH New Delhi consortium members.

Inaugurated in October 2012, the DWIH New Delhi consortium organised numerous activities in 2013, to establish and promote itself among the Indian academia. This very first Annual report provides an insight into these outreach programs highlighting the effort of the DWIH New Delhi consortium to enhance Indo-German cooperative ties in the fields of science, research and innovation.

Beginning with the foreword of H.E. Mr Michael Steiner, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to India and Ms Dorothee Dzwonnek, Secretary General of the German Research Foundation, DFG, the first few pages explain the mandate, structure and mission of the DWIH New Delhi. The report beautifully illustrates the mega event “Excellence on Tour” roadshows organised in Hyderabad and Ahmedabad including academic and cultural activities to showcase the German research landscape. It further captures the essence of activities conducted jointly by DWIH New Delhi consortium members and their Indian partners all through the year 2013. It concludes with an account of the media coverage DWIH New Delhi received and the rising number of visitors on its website in the first year of operation.

The first edition of DWIH New Delhi Annual report 2013 portrays an image of scientific and academic cooperation between India and Germany and aims to take it to an even higher level in its future editions to follow.
