German Alliance for Global Health Research (GLOHRA) celebrates its second year of supporting collaboration in global health research

GLOHRA is an initiative of the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) which supports interdisciplinary and cross-sector collaboration in global health research.

GLOHRA was launched two years ago, in February 2020, and has now grown to a community of around 750 members. GLOHRA membership is open to researchers from any discipline who are formally affiliated with a public research institution in Germany and are active in research that supports global health. Eligible individuals can become a member at any time by applying via the website.

Since its inception, the elected, gender-balanced and interdisciplinary 19-member Steering Committee has evaluated over 35 research applications and selected 10 global health projects to support. GLOHRA has also hosted numerous scientific events, including at the World Health Summit. Further, the Global Health Academy - a GLOHRA initiative - supports early career researchers by organizing trainings and providing networking and funding opportunities.
