For the purpose of international transfer of knowledge about education, the German Institute for International Educational Research (DIPF) and the Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) have signed a co-operation agreement. The co-operation is aimed at the support of the research and documentation centre on German science and education policy that is currently being launched at the Chinese university.
The new centre in Shanghai shall deliver a relevant contribution to international comparative educational research. By co-operation with DIPF, the institution will be able to access current documentations, publications and research findings as well as historical sources concerning education in Germany. Subject to the co-operation agreement, DIPF and the Shanghai International Studies University will organize joint-venture conferences and support each other in the exchange of lecturers and young scientists.

The German Institute for International Educational Research (DIPF) supports scientists, policymakers, administration and practice in education by conducting research and offering science-oriented infrastructure services. Research focuses on the structure and governance of education, the quality and effectiveness of educational processes, individual human development in educational contexts, educational information and the history of education. The scientific infrastructure services of the Institute encompass online- information systems such as the German Education Server, provision of research data and relevant literature as well as co-ordination and counselling of research liaisons. DIPF is a member of the Leibniz Association.
