Pushchino Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) – one of the leading Russian Research Centers in Biology and Chemistry – every year invites Young Scientists and Researchers to the International BioForum to Pushchino (Moscow Region).
The main objective of the bilateral session was to give young scientists from both countries a platform for presenting and discussing their recent research work and open chances for networking. The conference was introduced by two main lectures of Prof. Dr. Ulrich Kaupp (Center of Advanced European Studies and Research – CAESAR e.V. | Max-Planck Association, Bonn) and Prof. Dr. Victor Morozov (Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Biophysics, RAS, Pushchino).
Support and funding programmes were presented by Dr. Gregor Berghorn (German Academic Exchange Service – DAAD) and Olga Karelskaya of the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centers. Nicole Burghardt, East-West-Science Center, reported on services and networking activities for young scientists. The conference attracted up to 80 students, docs and postdocs.
The German participants used the chance to visit the Institute for Biological Instrumentation - Laboratory of new methods in biology and the Institute of Cell Biophysics - Laboratory of Molecular Cell Physiology. In the post processing of the activity all German participants expressed their positive impressions and the comfortable atmosphere provided by the Russian hosts [“.. a very worthwhile and enlightening journey that got rid of many prejudices..”]. OWWZ will further support the new connected contacts.
