German-Sino Agricultural Center enters 2nd project stage

The IAK Agrar Consulting GmbH and the Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO) have been given the go ahead for their concept to realise the second project stage of the German-Sino Agricultural Center (DCZ).

The DCZ is a joint initiative of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) and the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture (MoA). The project is being implemented in the scope of the bilateral co-operation programme (BKP) of the BMEL. General contractor of the BMEL for the BKP is GFA Consulting Group GmbH. The DCZ has been the central contact and information point since 2015, co-ordinating the co-operation between the two countries in the agricultural and food sector. The goal of the DCZ is to intensify political and economic relations and promote scientific co-operation and interaction between experts.

In the forthcoming second stage of realisation the IAK and IAMO are set to further expand individual project components. These include agricultural policy dialogue, agricultural and food industry dialogue and scientific dialogue, including the establishment of a science and technology platform. These focal points are accompanied by comprehensive public relations work, networking activities, workshops and conferences. The second project stage is due to begin in April 2018. “With the China International Research Group our institute has a unique team of experts with the best contacts to Chinese research establishments. We are convinced that together with IAK Agrar Consulting and its extensive experience and excellent expertise in the implementation of international dialogue projects we will be able to successfully realise the second stage of the DCZ”, says IAMO Director Thomas Glauben.
