Now Live – The Website of the German Center for Research and Innovation

Since its opening on February 19, 2010, the German Center for Research and Innovation (GCRI) has served as a catalyst for collaboration between Germany and the United States in science and industry. The GCRI website, www.GermanInnovation.org, launched on February 28, 2011.

The German Center for Research and Innovation (GCRI) is proud to announce the launch of its website, www.GermanInnovation.org. The GCRI’s web presence is an information platform for North Americans who are interested in the German research and innovation landscape and who wish to study, conduct research or business in Germany. Presenting Germany as a land of ideas where education and science play a central role, the website features a wealth of programs, funding opportunities, and first points of contact. Information on German research organizations, current research focus areas as well as the German higher education system is also provided.

The innovation centers and forward-thinking institutions listed on the “Centers of Innovation in Germany” page under “Research & Innovation” provide information and support in a variety of areas, including innovation management and business planning, technology transfer and commercialization of patents, innovation marketing, and technology assessment. Located in all 16 German states, the institutions and portals represent core strengths and services of Germany’s dynamic innovation landscape, which is characterized by a strong network of institutes, universities, clusters, enterprises, and scientists.

The “Resources” section of the site features organizations and institutions at the federal and state levels that represent Germany as a strong economic hub in the global market.

One of GCRI’s goals is to provide a forum for scholars and practitioners to present their research, exchange ideas, collaborate, and network in order to collectively address some of the critical challenges of the 21st century. The GCRI invites institutions and individuals interested in its programming and mission to plan a joint event. Cross-disciplinary event topics as well as innovative event formats are welcome. More information is available on the “Plan an Event” page under “News & Events.” The GCRI’s monthly newsletter, E-NNOVATION GERMANY, highlights GCRI programs within the framework of significant current topics in German science, research, and innovation. Topics of previous issues included academic entrepreneurship, the bilingual brain, renewable energy, and plasma medicine. Past issues can be found on the “Newsletters” page of www.GermanInnovation.org.
