The PhD Career Event 2014, organised by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), will take place at the Plaza Hotel Seoul on November 26, 2014. The event offers potential doctoral candidates the opportunity to arrange personal meetings with professors and administrators from 20 German universities and science organisations.
PhD candidates will receive first-hand information about:
- PhD programmes
- Admission procedures
- Funding opportunities
- Potential enrolment in a PhD programme in Germany
The whole event is split into two parts:
- Session 1 (1-5 pm) will provide an opportunity for PhD students to meet face-to-face with professors and administrators from 20 German universities and science organisations and have a counselling interview. Participation is only possible through a prior appointment via the online tool “Academic Matchmaker”.
- Session 2 (5-7 pm) consists of a walk-in-fair with two special presentations giving additional information about “Research in Germany” and “German Funding Programmes for Scientists and Researchers”. Although an appointment is not necessary for participation, a registration via the online tool “Academic Matchmakerhttps://www.daad.de/academic-matchmaker/” is highly recommended.

The event is open to anyone interested in conducting research in Germany. It is free of charge and will be conducted in English. In order to participate, candidates are kindly requested to register via the online tool “Academic Matchmaker” until 23 November 2014. This tool allows applicants to schedule an appointment for session 1.
