The international conference on the topic „Strategies to develop territorial innovation systems: from idea to implementation” took place in the context of INTERRA 2011. The aim was to develop recommendations for Russian innovation policy in order to efficiently approach the economic modernization of the Russian regions in the coming decades. Experts from the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and federal and national ministries, as well as representatives from authorities and institutions for economic development from Germany, France and Russia were participating in the discussions. The Software-Cluster, winner of the Leading-Edge-Cluster competition of the German Federal Government, has been invited by the Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) to share its experience in promoting regional innovation in the software industry.
On this matter Gino Brunetti, manager of the Software-Cluster, argues: “”The Software-Cluster is based on the idea that innovation results from co-operation. If – as in the Software-Cluster region - the regional actors from industry and academia join forces this is in the end for the benefit of each individual actor as well as for the competitiveness of the region as whole. I am honored to present and discuss our experience in this area in Novosibirsk. ”
The “International Youth Innovation Forum” (INTERRA) took place from September 22 to 24, 2011 for the third time in the Siberian city Novosibirsk in Russia. Last year nearly 2,500 inventors, scientists, government officials, economic experts and businessmen from more than 40 countries took part in this forum. Novosibirsk is considered a major scientific and high-tech center of Russia.
The German participation in this year took place within the framework of the German-Russian Year of Science. The "German-Russian Year of Education, Science and Innovation 2011/12" is an initiative of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Russian Federation. It continues the series of international science years of the Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) with strategically important partners.
