The agreement renews the Agreement on Scientific and Technological Cooperation between the European Community and Ukraine of July 4, 2002 signed in Copenhagen, which confirms importance of science and technology for the economic and social development of both Parties.
The Parties shall arrange an environment for cooperation in scientific and technological research to strengthen working relationship in the areas of common interest and encourage use of the results for the economic and social benefit of the Parties.
Ukrainian Party suggests that this note and note in answer from the Secretary General of the Council of the European Union should make up the Agreement on Renewal of the Agreement on Scientific and Technological Cooperation between the European Community and Ukraine which shall come into effect since the date the Parties notify of completion of their domestic procedures.
Secretary General of the Council of European Union confirms that the Agreement will be renewed for an extra five-year period since the date the Parties notify of completion of their domestic procedures.
