The objective of e-Asia JRP is to develop a vibrant and collaborative research community in Science and Technology, to promote innovation in the East Asian region, and to contribute to the region’s economic development.
Set up in 2012, e-Asia JRP is tasked with formulating and supporting international joint research projects in the East Asian Region on the multilateral basis as well as promoting researchers interaction through workshops, etc. The projects will be selected through open Call for Proposals.
Prospective Member Organizations are public funding institutions from the 18 East Asia Summit participating countries below, the "ASEAN+8" countries (in alphabetical order):
- 10 ASEAN Member countries (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam)
- 8 other countries (Australia, Japan, New Zealand, China, India, Korea, Russia, United States).
Funding organizations of nations or regions other than the "ASEAN+8" may be guest partners of the "e-ASIA Joint Research Program" with the consent of the Board, and may be involved in "e-ASIA Joint Research Program" activities with the same capacity as members.
