The Academy of Science of Mozambique (Academia de Ciências de Moçambique, ACM) was created after a national consultation of scientists and academicians in the whole country, organized by an special committee jointly created by the Ministry of Science and Technology. After several consultative meetings, the Statutes and the creation of the Academy of Science were approved by the Council of the Ministers. In February 2009, the Academy was officially launched by the Head of State.
