Vinca Institute of Nuclear Sciences

Forschungseinrichtungen und -infrastruktur

Recent trends in science increasingly tend to overcome the limits imposed by the division into physics, chemistry, biology and other traditional disciplines through creating teams pursuing a multidisciplinary line of research. Such a concept of work brings together experts from numerous areas, enabling them to get a multi-faceted insight into a problem and seek solutions through joint work.

The Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences is a place where such an approach to research is enabled by its internal organization and established practices. The research in the Institute covers the following areas: physics, chemistry, biology, energy engineering and technology, radiation and environmental protection, accelerator science and materials science.

All of these areas fall within the group of natural and technical sciences. Owing to a multidisciplinary approach, the Institute is capable of responding to the major strategic lines of research defined at a national level: advanced materials and nanoscience, energy engineering and technology, biomedicine and environmental protection.
