Confirming this, senior officials of Adityapur Auto Cluster Limited (AACL) said the Union ministry of commerce and industry had directed the two agencies to extend technical aid. They will help AACL select machinery and equipment for its proposed hi-tech laboratory.
S.N. Thakur, the director of AACL that is slated to come up in Adityapur industrial area, said the cluster at Pune was the first one in the country. It was developed three years ago. “Soon experts from ACDRIL will come to Jamshedpur to guide us. The Centre wants us to develop the hi-tech laboratory on the lines of the one in Pune,” Thakur said.
The auto cluster at Pune targets industries such as CAD/CAM, polymer, auto electronics, auto engineering, rubber components and general engineering sectors. Officials said the Adityapur cluster would also target almost the same set of industry.
