Die UNESCO konstatiert anhand neu veröffentlichter Daten einen globalen Lehrermangel. 27 Millionen Lehrer, so ein anlässlich des Weltlehrertages 2014 vorgestellten Datenblattes, müssten eingestellt werden, um bis 2030 jedem Kind das Recht auf eine Schulbildung gewähren zu können. Bis 2030 sollen deshalb in vielen Ländern Maßnahmen zur Rekrutierung umgesetzt werden. Auf der interaktiven Website "eAtlas of Teachers" stellt die UNESCO Daten nach Themen und Ländern bereit.
Global Teacher Shortage
New data show a chronic lack of trained teachers in many countries. Without action, it will be impossible to get all children into school and learning by 2030.
A new paper, jointly released by the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS) and the Education for All Global Monitoring Report on World Teachers' Day, shows that more than 27 million teachers will be needed to achieve universal primary education by 2030. In the rush to fill this gap, many countries are recruiting new teachers with little training.
