The "Emerging technologies and industries strategy 2014 to 2018" aims to identify early-stage technologies that will lead to the new products, processes and services – those with the potential to lead to the creation of completely new billion-pound industries.
The strategy is based around four strategic themes: to identify and evaluate emerging technologies with disruptive potential; to create a coordinated programme; to accelerate the journey to market; and to build critical mass and nurture capability.
