Representation of UNU-FLORES and associated projects at high-level international conferences

UNU-FLORES is dedicated to supporting and directly contributing to the United Nations' mandate to address the global challenge of the "Triple Planetary Crisis" (climate change, biodiversity loss and increasing pollution of the atmospheric, terrestrial, and aquatic environments) through research, teaching, outreach, and policy advisory activities. Through the programmes, "Resource Nexus Analytics, Informatics, Data – AID," and "Resource Nexus for Sustainability Transformations - NEXtra", UNU-FLORES further develops and defines the resource nexus approach and reiterates its commitment to supporting solutions to urgent global problems through science-based adaptation and mitigation measures. One of the aims of this proposal is to facilitate the participation of experts and doctoral students from UNU-FLORES and its partners in two major UN conferences in 2023, along with enabling the organisation of side events to promote visibility and networking with high-level representatives of the UN and its Member States. In addition to the scientists leading UNU-FLORES programmes and projects, experts in networking, outreach, and transfer/policy advice, and especially doctoral students, will be involved in these activities. The result will not only generate added value in education, but shall also support the transfer of scientific results into the work of the UN system.
