Daure Green Hydrogen und PTX Projekt Namibia - Module 2: Wissenschaftliche Begleitforschung für einen nachhaltigen Ansatz.

The overall objective of Hy4Daure project is to develop a pilot project for the production and utilization of green hydrogen in Namibia. The project is divided in 2 modules, the present proposal only dealing with module 2. In this module we evaluate how the Daure Hydrogen Project can be developed economically, in an environmentally friendly way and with a robust systems integration. We also analyse, how the project can contribute to a carbon neutral energy system and to a green hydrogen economy in Namibia and in Germany. We focus on the Daure Hydrogen Project, but also compare alternative routes and projects of H2 production, distribution and use. This will provide a basis for achieving a holistic and integrative approach of the Daure Project and how it is integrated in other international hydrogen projects. Advanced techno-economic and systems analysis, including life cycle assessment, systems, market analysis and macro economic assessment, risk assessment and developing training modules and supporting hydrogen networks between Namibia and Germany are the main methods. These research goals are to be achieved in tight collaboration with the Namibian research partner at UNAM and the industrial project participants in module 1. The results of the project will be used by project developers, but also by policy-makers and hydrogen industrial networks to establish and develop efficient and climate-friendly hydrogen value chains in and for Namibia. The special German-Namibian relationship and hydrogen initiative is supported and results are disseminated in networks and stakeholder groups.
