At a hands-on workshop with Dr. Sarah Poynton (Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine), medical postdocs will learn how to craft and prepare an international research career on August 26, 4:00-6:30 p.m., at the German House New York (871 United Nations Plaza, btw. 48th & 49th Streets).
The German Center for Research and Innovation (GCRI), in collaboration with the German Research Foundation (DFG), the German University Alliance, and the Heidelberg University Association, will offer practical guidance to medical postdocs who are looking to enhance their international career profile. From funding opportunities to networks, mentors, culture, and logistics, workshop leader Dr. Sarah Poynton will present and discuss factors that support international research activities. A mixture of individual written exercises, small group activities, questions and answers, as well as a concluding panel discussion will provide participants with the tools to develop an international research career strategy.
