Deutsch-indisches Symposium: Tenside und amphiphile Polymere in der Nanotechnologie

Zeitraum: 20.03.2014 - 22.03.2014 Ort: Chandigarh Land: Indien

Nanoscience is a rapidly growing field of science and engineering that usually pursues a bottom-up approach towards functional nanostructured materials. The methodologies developed in this realm are likely to impact all areas of chemical sciences as well as biomedical research.

Surfactants and amphiphilic block copolymers play a key role in these developments, due to their self-organization to form micelles, bilayers and vesicles. This can be exploited for the formulation of smart systems with tailor-made properties of solubilisation and delivery but also for the preparation of nanostructured inorganic nanoparticles or mesoporous matrices with well-defined pore structures.

In recent years, nanochemistry has been a flourishing field of research both in Germany and India and also contribution increasingly to industrial applications. Therefore, the purpose of the proposed Indo-German Symposium "Surfactants and Amphiphilic Polymers in Nanotechnology - On the Way to Smarter Solutions" is to bring together experts from the two countries in order to discuss cutting-edge developments on the key aspects in this field. It is anticipated that such a meeting will highlight recent achievements and potential future developments in the field, and initiate cooperation between German and Indian researchers and in particular open the way for new applications.
