Falling Walls Lab and Conference 2013

The Lab is a platform for excellent academics, entrepreneurs and professionals from all disciplines who get the opportunity to present their research project, business model or initiative with peers and a distinguished jury from academia and business. Each participant will be given 3 minutes to share his/her innovative idea.

The Falling Walls Lab is held every year on 8 November in Berlin and is closely connected to the annual and international renowned “Falling Walls Conference” which takes place on 9 November. At the Conference 20 top-class scientists from around the world present their current breakthrough research answering the question “Which are the next walls to fall?”.  This year, Professor Jagdish N. Bhagwati, the world’s leading expert in international trade, Professor Rolf-Dieter Heuer, director general of the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN) and Professor Jules A. Hoffman, Nobel laureate of 2011 are amongst the attending speakers.

All Falling Walls Lab participants receive a ticket for the Falling Walls Conference. The three most intriguing presenters will be awarded the title “Falling Walls Young Innovator of the Year 2013”, are being given a cash prize and will get the opportunity to present their talks on the grand stage of the Falling Walls Conference.

The Falling Walls Lab is a non-profit series of scientific conferences, which aims at building and fostering interdisciplinary connections between young researchers; apart from their own travel expenses, participants do not pay any charges. The events will be held in English. The Falling Walls Lab is a cooperation project between the Falling Walls Foundation, its Founding Partner A.T. Kearney and its Global Partner KWS Saat.
