The event will take place at IDZ (International Design Center) in Berlin from September 27th to 29th.
Design Scientists from both countries are invited to discuss designerly perspectives of a green future. Design unites a broad range of approaches to this challenge. There are technological, methodological or user centered views as well as views from social sciences, cognition or philosophy and aesthetics.
Participants are asked to submit a paper of 1000-2000 words about the topic from their particular perspective. Some of the short papers will be presented to mark the cornerstones and principal directions.
The major work will take place in mixed teams, who will develop new ideas and concepts. The results and all submitted short papers will be published subsequent to the workshop.
There will be no entrance fee to register at the event. Catering, Keynote and dinner are included for registered participants.
The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research supports the workshop.
It is intended to be a first step to initiate and intensify international cooperation between academics and universities of both countries. Following common activities will be stimulated for the near and middle future.
