Meeting of the Steering Platform on Research for the Western Balkan Countries
The next meeting of the Steering Platform on Research for the Western Balkan Countries (WBCs) will be the 17th meeting of the Platform. The event is upon invitation only and will be organised back-to-back with an event of the Danube-INCO.NET project.
The Steering Platform aims to facilitate and support the enhanced integration of the WBCs in the European Research Area. The Platform is a strategic body to deal with European, multilateral and regional issues of Science and Technology policies in and with the WBCs. It acts as an information exchange centre, clearing house for joint ideas and activities, and coordination forum for needs, suggestions and proposals of the WBCs to the European Commission, the EU28, candidate and potential candidate countries and the countries associated to FP7 /H2020 and vice versa.
Usually, meetings open with the discussion of progress reports on recent developments regarding S&T cooperation in/with/for the Western Balkan countries and ends with the adoption of specific conclusions. Back-to-back to the meeting a policy coordination event related to the EU Strategy for the Danube Region shall ideally be also organised. Relevant stakeholders from science ministries, EU Commission, international organisations, research institutions.
