CCC builds bridges to the world's leading cleantech clusters

On 1 October 2010, Copenhagen Capacity hosted the first International Cleantech Network meeting in Copenhagen. Over the next couple of years, the network is to ensure increased collaboration and partnerships between the world's leading and most pro-active clusters.

CCC has launched a new network, which is to form the basis for collaboration, exchange of knowledge and matchmaking among the world's leading cleantech clusters. The network is named the International Cleantech Network (ICN), and the goal is to hook up 10 to 15 of the most pro-active and internationally oriented clusters to the network within the next year.

The meeting on 1 October 2010 in Copenhagen marked the beginning of the network, where representatives from clusters in Colorado, Oslo and North Carolina got together to discuss the perspectives of the collaboration.

The network's mission is to create value for the clusters' stakeholders, including companies, universities, research institutions and public authorities. The value is gained by building a strong, global network, by initiating and facilitating interdisciplinary cluster activities as well as arranging cross-border cluster events.

This first meeting was held in connection with the World Climate Solution 2010 in Copenhagen. At the end of the meeting, Colorado Clean Energy Cluster, Oslo Renewable Energy, Environment Cluster and Copenhagen Cleantech Cluster signed an agreement for co-operation.

The network will meet again on 1 February 2011 in Colorado, to speed up the work. At this meeting, another three or four clusters are expected to join the network.
