On October 7th 2014, the workshop "Designing City Policies" will be organised in Brussels by the Cross Innovation project and KEA. During the session, participants will discuss how policies can be designed to promote collaborations between the creative industries and other sectors.
Drawing on the experience of successful EU-funded projects, and focusing on the idea that Europe's creative expertise can be a driver for socio-economic innovation, the event will explore:
- the types of policies that support creative sectors to develop new thinking across different disciplines
- new tools and methods to facilitate cross-sectoral collaboration (Creative SPIN)
- strengthening the role of creative industries as key drivers for innovation (Cross Innovation)
- incubation processes between artists, scientists and business (KiiCS)
- case studies and examples of best practice, providing provocations to change the mindset of local policy making
The event will consist of a series of short, impactful presentations followed by the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussion.
