Clustering Workshop on the Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC)
The Workshop should provide information for the Danube Countries on European networking instruments (European Research Infrastructure Consortium ERICs, European Technology Platforms ETPs, Knowledge and Innovation Communities KICs), discuss possibilities for developing and strengthening networking and should lead to follow up activities. These follow up activities will be concrete proposals for pilot actions in view of clustering activities, and two proposals will be selected by the Danube-INCO.NET Consortium for further support in 2016.
The main objective of this Clustering Workshop is to inform participants on the Knowledge and Innovation Communities supported by the European Institute of Technology (EIT), to exchange information on existing outreach activities in the Danube region, to foster networking with and within the Danube Region and to prepare follow up activities as pilot actions related to existing or future clusters and/or KICs. In the planned Workshop, participants should be informed on the KIC model in general and on strategic aspects and procedures for the planning and establishment of a KIC from the EIT perspective.
The focus will be on existing KICs, but also on ongoing activities with a potential for an establishment of a new KIC. The cooperation within and with the countries of the Danube Region and their integration should play a key role in the discussions. Best practices, success stories and case studies will be presented to discuss cooperation possibilities for stakeholders from the Danube Region and KIC initiatives. Target groups: stakeholders from research institutions, industry or academia as well as policy makers from the target region, project partners.
