ESFRI und nationale Forschungsinfrastrukturen - aktuelle Herausforderungen aus Sicht der Visegrád-Staaten

Zeitraum: 13.09.2016 Ort: Brüssel Land: Belgien

The European Commission, in cooperation with ESFRI (European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures) and other relevant stakeholders, is currently developing an action plan concerning long-term sustainability of research infrastructures. The plan is likely to be discussed with Member States in the near future therefore it is important to identify the main areas of interest and the main challenges for the V4 countries in order to make the voice of the region heard.

The background for this discussion should be the report from public consultation carried out by the European Commission at the beginning of this year entitled: “Report on the Consultation on Long Term Sustainability of Research Infrastructures”.

Main topics to be discussed comprise:

  • current performance of selected research infrastructures including best practices with a special emphasis on innovation potential, collaboration with the industry and international visibility,
  • integration of national research infrastructures with leading European research infrastructures including collaboration possibilities through Horizon 2020 projects,
  • connections between the national research infrastructure roadmaps and the ESFRI roadmap,
  • fostering long-term sustainability of research infrastructures in Europe.
