In December 2012 and in November 2013, the Commission services have organised two workshops on chemical risk management under REACH and other sector specific legislation. Both received positive feedback from the participants, mainly Competent Authorities for REACH and for other EU legislation and EU Agencies.
Following the success of those events, a new workshop is being organised jointly by DG ENTR, DG ENV and DG EMPL. This workshop will focus the discussion on the common elements and possible divergences in the management of risks related to chemicals under REACH and OSH legislation.
As in the previous workshops, the aim is to generate a constructive exchange of views and information among Commission services, relevant EU agencies and Member States Competent Authorities responsible for REACH and national authorities responsible for OSH legislation.
In this workshop, there will also bo an open session in the afternoon, in which industry/employers and workers representatives' together with scientists working in the area of limit values will be welcomed. The aim is to work together towards a common understanding on how best to manage the interface between REACH and OSH legislation.
