The European Energy Research Alliance (EERA) is an association of European public research centres and universities active in low-carbon energy research. Since 2008, it has grown into Europe’s largest energy community, now bringing together more than 250 organisations and around 50,000 researchers from 30 countries.
The Alliance is one of the cornerstones of the European Union’s Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET-Plan). EERA's joint research programmes cover the whole range of low-carbon technologies as well as systemic and cross-cutting topics.
