Polish-German Research Projects: Beethoven 2 (DFG-NCN 2016)
In order to strengthen international academic cooperation, wishing to fund high quality scientific research within their own countries, and conscious that some of the best research can be delivered by working with the best researchers internationally, National Science Centre (NCN) and Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) are launching the second call for proposals within the joint funding initiative “Beethoven”.
The Beethoven initiative was started in 2014 in order to provide funding for integrated Polish-German research projects of outstanding scientific quality. In light of the success of Beethoven’s first round in the Humanities and Social Sciences, NCN and DFG are extending the funding initiative to cover more disciplines, now inviting proposals in the Humanities, Social Sciences, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics (including Astronomy) and Materials Science (see the call text, linked below, for details).
Proposals for research projects in the above-named disciplines must be written in English and submitted by a joint Polish-German research team. The duration of the projects must be either 24 or 36 months.
The proposals will undergo a joint evaluation in two stages. First, all proposals are assessed by external reviewers. Following that, joint expert panels will select the strongest proposals for funding.
Deadline for this second call for proposals is 15 December 2016 (DFG and NCN).
