Heidelberger Innovationsforum 2015: Smart Data

Zeitraum: 19.05.2015 - 20.05.2015 Ort: Heidelberg Land: Deutschland

Innovative Business Ideas: From Big Data to Smart Data

The Heidelberg Innovation Forum is looking for your innovative smart data business ideas from various sectors such as life science, production, mobility, creative industries, logistics and navigation and many more. In nowaday’s digital environment, data have become the primary resource.  The data volume across the world will grow exponentially in the next years. The number, quality and intensity of digital services, the Internet of Things as well as research and the digital economy add constantly to the increasing data accumulation. In the last years, Big Data has already provided first solutions for handling, storing and processing huge amounts of data. However, just making data accessible and manageable is not enough. The main future challenges will be to evaluate, analyse and understand data: Not the mass of data will become essential, but the useful content it provides.

New Focus in 2015: Smart Data across all Sectors

Smart Data goes one step further and examines why and how something happens within your process or facility and provides forecasts for the future. The intelligent connection of data and modern analytical methods will be the key to increase economic competition, to use our resources and knowledge more efficiently and to develop better services, processes and products – especially within SMEs.

All in all, Smart Data symbolises the application-oriented, secure and content-focused use of mass data of the years to come.
