QuantERA Call for Proposals 2021: Call for Proposals in Quantum Information and Communication Sciences and Technologies
The QuantERA II funding organisations jointly support European multilateral research projects with the potential to initiate or foster new lines of quantum technologies through collaborations involving multidisciplinary explorations in the field of science and/or engineering. The submitted proposals are to be aligned with one of the following topics:
Quantum Phenomena and Resources: here the goal is to lay the foundations for the quantum technologies of the future. The focus is on basic quantum science and fundamental physics, and the projects are to explore novel quantum phenomena, concepts and resources, and/or address major challenges that prevent broad applications of some quantum technologies;
Applied Quantum Science: here the goal is to take known quantum effects and established concepts from quantum science, translate them into technological applications and develop new products. These might be novel devices based on known quantum effects that can serve a novel application in quantum technologies, or else devices that translate known quantum applications into products and industrial applications.
The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) is participating in this call and will fund projects relevant to Quantum Phenomena and Resources. The regular eligibility rules for DFG funding apply, with the exception of the duty to collaborate.
A two-stage application procedure (pre-proposals and full proposals) will be opened for consortia composed of researchers from at least three of the following participating countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey.
The deadline for submitting pre-proposals is 13 May 2021, 17:00 CET. The call is coordinated by the Agence National de la Recherche (ANR), France; the National Science Centre (NCN), Poland, ist the QuantERA coordinator.
