The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, Sida, is a government agency working on behalf of the Swedish parliament and government, with the mission to reduce poverty in the world.
SIDA believes that research prioritized by the low income countries themselves solves local problems and contributes to poverty reduction.
Swedish research support has three important areas:
- To strengthen the capacity of low income countries to use research in the struggle against poverty.
- To support international research of relevance to low income countries.
- To support Swedish research of relevance to low income countries.
