NICE event focuses on healthcare innovators

Cambridge companies that are innovating in healthcare and medical devices will benefit from learning more about the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) approvals system at the Cambridge Network healthcare special interest group meeting next month.

NICE provides guidance, sets quality standards and manages a national database to improve people’s health and prevent and treat ill health.

At this event, which takes place at the premises of MedImmune (Milstein Building, Granta Park, Cambridge, CB21 6GH) on Thursday September 30th (6-9pm), the group will gain insight into the process from Deborah Bent (pictured), Implementation Consultant – East, for NICE.  It will also hear from Fabio Magrini, Senior Director of Inflammation and Autoimmunity at drug development company MedImmune about the challenges of following NICE guidelines.

NICE guidance aims to ensure that the promotion of good health and patient care in local health communities is in line with the best available evidence of effectiveness and cost effectiveness. It makes recommendations to the NHS on new and existing medicines, treatments and procedures; and on treating and caring for people with specific diseases and conditions.

Attendees so far include Global Regulatory ServicesHealth Enterprise East,  Illumina, Medical Device Technology Consultants, PA Consulting and Taylor Wessing.

This event, which will include presentations followed by discussion and Q&A, then a networking buffet, is open to Corporate Members of Cambridge Network at no cost.

Registration is required - please book a place.
