This paper builds on the Chief Scientist’s position paper, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in the National Interest: A Strategic Approach, calling for a whole of government approach to investment in STEM.
Following its public release in July 2013, the position paper received broad support across the research and business sectors. The Business Council of Australia’s Action Plan for Enduring Prosperity endorsed the approach and recommended its swift adoption.
The Chief Scientist here puts forward a strategic approach to STEM as a recommendation to government.
