NAWA is a new institution that was established on 1. October 2017. It is set up to coordinate state activities driving the process of internationalization of Polish academic and research institutions.
NAWA aims to:
- support the international mobility of students, academics and researchers
- support the process of internationalization of Polish Higher Education Institutions and research institutions
- promote Polish science and higher education
- promote and popularize teaching of the Polish language.
NAWA is affiliated with the Ministry of Tertiary Education. In addition, it is supervised by a Board representing the Prime Minister, and ministers for tertiary education, science, foreign affairs, public finance and the economy.
