As the EU prepares its Start-up and Scaleup Strategy, the upcoming Talk "From research to business: how to build a successful start-up" will dive into support mechanisms that help science-based spin-offs and start-ups to be launched and grow. Three successful practices will be presented by Lotta Partanen, Head of Incubation and Acceleration at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, Klaas Hernamdt, Programme Director at Humanities Venture Lab at University of Amsterdam, and Esteban Pelayo, Director at Parque Cientifico de Alicante.
The talk will be web-streamed on Tuesday 8 April from 13:00 to 13:45.
To accelerate the translation of research results into tangible societal and economic value, the Directorate-General for Research and Innovation is currently conducting a survey on the Codes of Practice on Knowledge Valorisation, adopted by the European Commission in 2023 and 2024. The survey aims at gathering inputs from all Research and Innovation actors to help shape future activities that will enhance knowledge valorisation practices. It is open until 30 May 2025.
